ABOUT

Matthew grew up in Dallas, TX and is the second youngest among six siblings. Throughout his life, Matthew has loved fixing things, from small boat engines to musical instruments to home interiors. That passion to restore and build led him to the business world, where he spent the majority of his career to date investing in family owned businesses with Trive Capital in Dallas. 

Matthew has deep experience in the acquisition process, having closed 18 acquisitions of family owned businesses across a very wide variety of industries. In his prior work, he spent meaningful time alongside founders, thinking together about companies' futures and growth prospects. For certain investments, he joined management teams in interim capacities to help solve particularly difficult problems that required an extra executive. 

Prior to Trive, Matthew was in North Carolina for several years. He worked in Wells Fargo's investment banking division with a focus on scaled, publicly traded companies that taught him valuable lessons in how some of the world's largest companies are run. 

Matthew is a major Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks fan and spends most of his free time playing his banjo and guitar. When he can, he loves to be on the water, wakeboarding, waterskiing, swimming, and boating. He attended Duke University for his undergraduate studies and Northwestern Kellogg for his MBA.
